Evidence to keep

  • Scope and applicabilityA project and team map for the current quarter
  • Scope and applicabilityA list of shared people and the percentage of their time on each project
  • Scope and applicabilityA note on which profile the firm is starting from and why

Questions before you sign

  • How many projects are live this quarter?
  • Which people work on more than one, and who decides their priority?
  • Would the Basic profile fit better today?

The practice, in our words

Establish whether the firm runs parallel projects run by more than one work team. The public abstract gives this as the situation the Intermediate profile is built for, and as the reason it adds elements to the Basic profile.

What it means in a VSE

List the live projects, the teams on them and the people who appear on more than one. That overlap is the reason the Intermediate profile exists. If the firm runs one project with one team, the Basic profile is the better starting point and the file should say so.

In a firm of 25 people or fewer, more than one project and more than one work team has to earn its time. The test for SC-03 is not whether the team understands it but whether the artefact exists at the end of the project. Shrink the meeting. Shrink the document. Keep the record.

How to evidence it

Attach the artefacts above to the More than one project and more than one work team row with the project name, the owner and the date. The anchor for SC-03 is A project and team map for the current quarter. A named person must produce it on request.

For SC-03, the reviewer will sample one live decision and ask for A list of shared people and the percentage of their time on each project. No artefact, no evidence. A file that depends on one person's mailbox is not a file for more than one project and more than one work team.

What an assessor samples

An assessor reads the more than one project and more than one work team practice, asks for its evidence and tests one project against it. For SC-03, the useful sample is the most recent project that used the practice, not the best one. A reconstruction written for the visit is a finding for SC-03 if the practice cannot be shown to have happened when it mattered.

Common gaps

  • A shared person promised at 100 percent to three projects
  • The Basic profile used for a multi-project firm because the templates were already there
What changes from the 2019 report. For SC-03, the public record already fixes the scope. The transition work is to write the boundary down and to record the decision if the firm sits outside it.

Where the draft fits

The public abstract places more than one project and more than one work team inside one of the four processes the Intermediate profile covers. For SC-03, the draft clause numbering and wording are not public, so this page cites Public abstract, 1.1 Fields of application and does not quote the draft. The basis label for SC-03 says whether the practice is stated in the public record, named as a process in the series, or our reading.
