- Scope and applicabilityA one-page list of the additions with the firm's response to each
- Scope and applicabilityThe evidence named for each addition
- Scope and applicabilityA date by which the response is reviewed
Questions before you sign
- Which additions are already part of how we work?
- Which one will cost the most effort, and who owns it?
- What evidence will show each addition is working?
The practice, in our words
Identify the additions the public abstract names: business management, acquisition management, and modified process, task, work product and role elements for parallel projects. Treat each as a decision the firm has to make, not a paragraph to read.
What it means in a VSE
For each addition, write one sentence on how the firm will handle it and one on what evidence will show it is handled. A firm that already manages suppliers has most of acquisition management; it still needs the sentence and the evidence.
In a firm of 25 people or fewer, what the guide adds to the basic profile has to earn its time. The test for SC-05 is not whether the team understands it but whether the artefact exists at the end of the project. Shrink the meeting. Shrink the document. Keep the record.
How to evidence it
Attach the artefacts above to the What the guide adds to the Basic profile row with the project name, the owner and the date. The anchor for SC-05 is A one-page list of the additions with the firm's response to each. A named person must produce it on request.
For SC-05, the reviewer will sample one live decision and ask for The evidence named for each addition. No artefact, no evidence. A file that depends on one person's mailbox is not a file for what the guide adds to the basic profile.
What an assessor samples
An assessor reads the what the guide adds to the basic profile practice, asks for its evidence and tests one project against it. For SC-05, the useful sample is the most recent project that used the practice, not the best one. A reconstruction written for the visit is a finding for SC-05 if the practice cannot be shown to have happened when it mattered.
Common gaps
- Additions acknowledged in a meeting and never written down
- Acquisition management treated as a purchasing task rather than an engineering one
Where the draft fits
The public abstract places what the guide adds to the basic profile inside one of the four processes the Intermediate profile covers. For SC-05, the draft clause numbering and wording are not public, so this page cites Public abstract, 1.1 Fields of application and does not quote the draft. The basis label for SC-05 says whether the practice is stated in the public record, named as a process in the series, or our reading.
