Questions before you sign
- Which practices can we already evidence?
- Which are new, and who owns each?
- Which partial practice needs the least work for the most value?
The practice, in our words
Compare what the firm does today with the practices in the Intermediate profile, and mark each as practiced, partial or new. The comparison is the transition plan; without it the firm either rebuilds what it already has or misses what it does not.
What it means in a VSE
Use the register on this site as the list of practices. For each, ask for the artefact that would prove it. If the artefact exists, the practice is at least partial. If nobody can find it, the practice is new whatever the team says.
In a firm of 25 people or fewer, compare current practice with the intermediate profile has to earn its time. The test for TR-02 is not whether the team understands it but whether the artefact exists at the end of the project. Shrink the meeting. Shrink the document. Keep the record.
How to evidence it
Attach the artefacts above to the Compare current practice with the Intermediate profile row with the project name, the owner and the date. The anchor for TR-02 is The comparison table with a status per practice. A named person must produce it on request.
For TR-02, the reviewer will sample one live decision and ask for The artefact found for each practiced item. No artefact, no evidence. A file that depends on one person's mailbox is not a file for compare current practice with the intermediate profile.
What an assessor samples
An assessor reads the compare current practice with the intermediate profile practice, asks for its evidence and tests one project against it. For TR-02, the useful sample is the most recent project that used the practice, not the best one. A reconstruction written for the visit is a finding for TR-02 if the practice cannot be shown to have happened when it mattered.
Common gaps
- A comparison answered from memory
- Every practice marked practiced because the team is experienced
Where the draft fits
The public abstract places compare current practice with the intermediate profile inside one of the four processes the Intermediate profile covers. For TR-02, the draft clause numbering and wording are not public, so this page cites Public abstract, process list and does not quote the draft. The basis label for TR-02 says whether the practice is stated in the public record, named as a process in the series, or our reading.
