Questions before you sign

  • Which roles gain work?
  • Who has been trained, and on which template?
  • What have we taken away to make room?

The practice, in our words

Identify which roles gain a task or a work product under the Intermediate profile, and give those people the training and the time to do it. A role that gains work without capacity is a gap waiting to appear.

What it means in a VSE

Map the new tasks to named people, then check the capacity sheet. Training can be a two-hour walk-through of the new template with a worked example. Record attendance and the example used.

In a firm of 25 people or fewer, retrain the roles that change has to earn its time. The test for TR-04 is not whether the team understands it but whether the artefact exists at the end of the project. Shrink the meeting. Shrink the document. Keep the record.

How to evidence it

Attach the artefacts above to the Retrain the roles that change row with the project name, the owner and the date. The anchor for TR-04 is The role change map. A named person must produce it on request.

For TR-04, the reviewer will sample one live decision and ask for The training record with names and dates. No artefact, no evidence. A file that depends on one person's mailbox is not a file for retrain the roles that change.

What an assessor samples

An assessor reads the retrain the roles that change practice, asks for its evidence and tests one project against it. For TR-04, the useful sample is the most recent project that used the practice, not the best one. A reconstruction written for the visit is a finding for TR-04 if the practice cannot be shown to have happened when it mattered.

Common gaps

  • Training given to everyone so nobody owns the change
  • New tasks added without taking anything away
What changes from the 2019 report. For TR-04, the draft replaces a Technical Report. The transition work is to compare, re-baseline, retrain and keep the review trigger alive, whether or not the published text changes a particular sentence.

Where the draft fits

The public abstract places retrain the roles that change inside one of the four processes the Intermediate profile covers. For TR-04, the draft clause numbering and wording are not public, so this page cites Public abstract, 1.1 Fields of application and does not quote the draft. The basis label for TR-04 says whether the practice is stated in the public record, named as a process in the series, or our reading.
